Campus Ministry - UNCG
Members of Starmount have regularly supported the UNCG Campus Ministry in many ways. We have served meals to the Presbyterian students, provided “exam packages” to the students, arranged for the Starmount bus to meet the students prior to church to bring them to Starmount for Sunday worship, and provided financial support ($2,000) to this organization.
Salem Presbytery has recently hired a Presbyterian chaplain, the Rev. Peter Hazelrigg, to meet with and to provide pastoral care to the students. Due to Starmount’s strong history with UNCG students and our proactive initiative, this chaplain has now joined Starmount as our part-time parish associate to work with the college students in our Starmount community. As this program continues to evolve and to grow, Starmount members will be hearing more about ways in which we might become actively involved in the lives and in meeting the needs of these students.
