Triad Health Project
Triad Health Project (THP) provides emotional and practical support to individuals living with HIV/AIDS, to their loved ones, and to those at risk for HIV/AIDS; implements strategies to educate those at risk and the community about HIV/AIDS; and advocates locally, regionally, and nationally for individuals and groups infected by or affected by HIV/AIDS.
One of the many services offered by THP is Higher Ground, a day center and spiritual retreat for those infected and affected by HIV. Weekly activities and lunches provide opportunities for everyone to build a community of support. Starmount Church provides lunch once a month every third Thursday to the approximately 25-30 participants in Higher Ground. The lunches are prepared and served by church circles and many individual volunteers. Additionally, Starmount includes THP in its annual benevolence funding. Each year at Christmas, Starmount volunteers also fill Christmas stockings and provide presents from our Angel Tree project to the clients of THP.
