Presbyterian Counseling Center

Presbyterian Counseling Center - A Ministry of Volusia Presbyterian ChurchesThe Presbyterian Counseling Center brings together the three components that are vital to counseling: 1. Therapy for individuals and families. 2. Psychiatric assessment and medication. 3. Appreciation of the spiritual/faith element to mental health. For over 32 years PCC has been a place where people know that their faith will be respected and viewed positively.

Recently a couple successfully completed counseling after the crisis of an affair. The wife made this comment: “I know that we could have gotten counseling from other professionals, but I am so grateful that we could have it here where we could talk about our faith freely.”

In 2006, PCC provided over 6,000 hours of therapy and psychiatric services to greater Greensboro. While the Center is able to accept health insurance as a means of payment, many clients cannot pay the full cost. Each year PCC provides more than $30,000 of services because of the subsidized sliding scale. For this reason the support of churches like Starmount Presbyterian and individuals is vital to the stability and growth of this counseling ministry. Starmount has supported PCC from its inception.

Currently, both Marshall Melton and Randy Lippard serve on the Board of Directors for the Center.
