Greater Greensboro CROP Hunger Walk
The Greater Greensboro CROP Hunger Walk (note the addition of “hunger” to the name) is scheduled annually for a Sunday in October. The 3.1 miles raises money to alleviate world hunger and is distributed by Church World Service, a Protestant hunger relief agency.
For a number of years the Greensboro walk has held the No. 2 spot in the nation, behind Charlotte. However, last year Durham overtook us and we fell to No. 3, with Charlotte continuing to be No. 1.
This year Greensboro won a challenge to Durham to become the number two spot holder. Thanks to all those who participated, Greensboro reached their 2007 goal of $200,000.
